When educators are at their lowest point in the year, around November, we enter “The Challenge Phase.” In this month’s series, we explain the four “Nos” of November to help get you through the rest of the first semester: NOrmalize; “Not” all at once; “No,” thank you; and “Not” alone.
First up is NOrmalize: Challenge is common.
- Understand that everyone in education experiences it. It’s not just you.
- It is only temporary; it won’t last all year.
- Acknowledge the challenge. Once it’s out there, use it as an opportunity.
- Fight the urge to be perfect. Be your true self, and your best is enough.
