PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The SEED Teacher Program supports teachers in transforming their classrooms into highly engaging, innovative, and student-centered learning communities. The program extends our instructional model to include a focus on STEM and using design to solve problems identified in students' rural communities. The SEED PD Program is funded by the federal Supporting Effective Educator Development Grant Program. Teachers who successfully complete all requirements earn eMINTS Certification. |
FORMAT AND CONTENT
The SEED Teacher Program provides two years of sustained, evidence-based professional development. Teachers in the SEED Program engage in face-to-face and online training, receive in-class coaching, and participate in an online community of practice. While the program has a STEM priority, the PD addresses all aspects of effective instruction for modern, digital age classrooms including involving students in real-world, relevant inquiry; building a positive classroom environment where students feel safe to collaborate with others; designing standards-based lessons that engage students in rigorous problem-solving; and using technology as a fundamental tool for high-level and transformative learning. |
