We round out the Tip Cards theme: Level Up Learning with Powered by Technology. Our Tips have all been about how to use AI-generated content as a starting point for planning and how to level up that content in each of the four eMINTS Instructional Model Quadrants: High-quality Lesson Design, Community of Learners, Authentic Learning, and Powered by Technology.


Artificial intelligence (AI) can help generate content and give learners and educators a starting point. For example, AI can help create instructional materials, lesson planning, generating assignments, grading, and completing paperwork.


But, here are some things that humans can do that AI cannot. 


AI can’t:

  • Build relationships between the educator and learner, learners and their peers, or learners and their community.
  • Create an emotionally upbeat classroom.
  • Motivate learners.
  • Teach critical thinking.
  • Provide high-quality feedback.
  • Attend to basic human needs.
