Just as you can show others kindness through your own thoughts, actions, and reactions, you can also show yourself these same kindnesses. For the last eMINTS tip in this series, we finish off our #KindnessCounts campaign with how to be kind to yourself using positive affirmations. Positive affirmations are statements that help to focus on positive thoughts and emotions. Here are some examples of positive affirmations:
- I am innovative and creative.
- I am a kind and thoughtful person.
- I am unique and authentic.
- I choose to focus on the positive and let go of negativity.
- I am motivated to do my best under the circumstances that I face.
- I belong in a community.
- I trust in my abilities and embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
- I am grateful for all the opportunities in my life.
- I am surrounded by love and positivity.
- I am deserving of success and prosperity.
By repeating these (and other) affirmations regularly, you can train your mind to focus on positive thoughts and emotions, which can help to improve your overall well-being.
