Tip: Kindness Counts > Being Kind to Others
SKU:
Although we cannot control others’ thoughts, actions, and reactions, we can control our own. Today, we are continuing our #KindnessCounts series with another of our eMINTS Tuesday Tips: Being kind to others through our own thoughts, actions, and reactions using internal and non-monetary means.
- Offer a compliment or praise. - Notice something unique and beautiful about someone or something? Speak it aloud. Make it timely, sincere, and specific.
- Assume positive intentions. - Choose to believe the best of people, and trust that the aim of their thoughts, actions, or reactions is positive.
- Practice empathy and grace. - Understand and accept others as they are; let go of resentment and anger by focusing on the present. Put yourself in their shoes, try to see the situation from their perspective, and imagine their feelings given the current circumstances.
- Give gratitude and forgiveness. - Be thankful for the little things. It’s an attitude of gratitude that helps facilitate positivity. And recognize that we are all human, we all make mistakes, and it’s necessary to forgive others when they have.
