This is a great way to practice reinforcing cardinal directions with learners. Give participants a handout of a compass rose. Allow participants to pick a partner for each direction. The direction must be blank for both participants before they are able to sign each other’s compass rose for that direction. Before using this strategy, practice partnering up with each direction to make sure that no one accidentally mixed up their partners. The compass rose can be affixed to a convenient location so that learners can easily find their directional partner.
