Bubble Gum Blowing Contest
With this fun and engaging grouping strategy, learners get to actively participate in a bubble gum-blowing contest. Provide each participant with a piece of bubble gum. When you say go, everyone blows the biggest bubble they can with the gum. Create a line-up based on bubble size, with the smallest bubble at one end and the largest bubble at the other end. Group participants using the line-up. Form homogeneous groups with like bubble sizes or heterogeneous groups with big, medium, and small bubbles in each group. This would be a great strategy to use multiple times throughout the day with learners - for however long they can continue chewing their piece of gum!
