PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Investing in Innovation (i3) eMINTS Program builds internal capacity at the building level by incorporating three levels of eMINTS training, the Comprehensive eMINTS Teacher Program, eMINTS Affiliate Trainer PD, and eMINTS4Admin. This comprehensive school-based program of PD for teachers, trainers, and administrators is grounded in constructivist learning theory and supports high-quality, standards-based lesson design, promotes authentic learning, empowers technology-rich learning environments, and builds community among students and teachers. We help schools implement CCSS by providing specific PD in the design of standards-based, rigorous lessons. We set the classroom context for college and career training with technology, authentic tasks, problem solving, and positive academic mindset. This eMINTS / i3 Program involves 56 schools in 4 states (Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Utah), impacting ~84 Affiliates, 448 teachers and 24,500 students (grade 7). The goal is to increase student achievement while building problem-solving skills and academic mindset critical to becoming college & career ready as well as engaging students in authentic, real-world problems with autonomy over learning, enhancing cognitive engagement.

FORMAT AND CONTENT
Teachers in the 2-year program meet in cohort groups led by a district Affiliate Trainer (supported by eMINTS staff) one to two times per month for professional development and collegial sharing, specifically exploring standards-based instruction, designing engaging, student-centered lessons, leveraging student data for instructional decision-making, and integrating technology in transformative ways. Additionally, the eMINTS Affiliate Trainer will provide each teacher in-classroom coaching and support. These support visits are critical in transfer of training content into classroom practice.
Affiliate Trainer and eMINTS4Admin cohorts participate in training facilitated by eMINTS staff.
